Cheryl Orsini taught herself to draw as a little girl. She grew a little taller, studied Visual Communications at UTS and finally, when she could grow no more, she started illustrating children's books, magazines and decorating a great many peg dolls! She’s now illustrated over thirty books including Lucy’s Book (Lothian Books/Hachette Australia), The Fairy Dancers (ABC Books), Pom Pom, Where Are You? (Viking/Penguin), Caravan Fran (Lothian Books/Hachette Australia), and the upcoming title The Magic Bookshop (ABC Books). Her work also regularly appears in The School Magazine (The NSW Dept of Education), exhibitions and murals.
In 2017 Lucy’s Book was chosen to open The NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge. 2017 also saw Cheryl’s artwork featured in the Sydney Writers’ Festival program, Children’s Festival of Moving Stories and splashed all over Russ the Story Bus – honk if you love books!
Cheryl’s workshops are fast-paced, funny and highly interactive. Cheryl is passionate about ‘colouring-in’ for a living, encouraging visual literacy in a creative life and creating the greatest ‘show and tell’. Her workshops and presentations can be tailored to suit all ages.
