John Larkin

Writer and comedian John Larkin was born in England but grew up in Sydney. He has been a professional soccer player, trolley boy, factory hand, forklift driver, computer programmer, educator, librarian and comedian.

John is the author of over 23 books for children teens and adults. The Shadow Girl received the 2012 Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for Writing for Young Adults. His YA novel , The Pause, was nominated for the Prime Ministers’ Literary Awards 2015 and won the Queensland Literary Awards. John has written several titles for young adults, including Pizza Features, Spaghetti Legs, Lasagne Brain and Nostradamus and Instant Noodles. For younger readers, he has written the Western Wildcats series, Horse Girl, Horse Girl Rides Again and Harry Highpants and the Salivating Beast. John has a BA in English Literature and a MA in Creative Writing from Macquarie University.
