Andrew Cranna

Andrew Cranna is an artist, educator and author living in Sydney. He grew up in rural NSW and after studying Primary Education at university, travelled around the world teaching English. After finishing a bicycle adventure through Asia, Andrew settled in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to continue teaching and illustrating for travel magazines and local newspapers. He later returned to Australia to complete a Masters Degree in Art Education and take up a position as a primary school Art Teacher. Andrew illustrates for The School Magazine and their Teaching Guide series published by the NSW Department of Education and Communities, where his particular brand of zany humour makes teaching and learning activities accessible and fun.

Andrew’s first graphic novel, The Bloodhound Boys: The Great Blood Bank Robbery, was shortlisted by the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) for the Crichton Award for New Illustrators. It was also shortlisted for the Readings Children's Book Prize of 2014. This was followed by second in the series, The Bloodhound Boys: The Monster Truck Tremor Dilemma.
