JC Burke lives in Sydney and has two children in their twenties who are regularly interrogated about their lives. Often this information ends up in Burke’s books. Usually it’s been exaggerated, taken out of context and moulded back together until it becomes the experience of one of her fictional characters. Her children are not impressed with this technique. They think she needs to ‘get a life’.
Burke has written 10 novels, many award winning with numerous international translations. Burke won the CBCA Book of the Year for Older Readers in 2006 for The Story of Tom Brennan, which is currently on the NSW HSC English Syllabus. She was also granted The Ned Kelly Award for Best Crime Fiction in 2012 for PigBoy.
JC Burke currently trying her hand at TV and Film writing. Her latest novel The Things We Promise was released earlier this year, March 2017.
