Her second novel The Protected ( which focuses on bullying and involves no weapons) was awarded the 2015 Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for young adult literature. Claire grew up in the Blue Mountains where she spent her youth with horses both real and imagined. She now lives in the Illawarra with her husband and two children (all real). She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Post Graduate Diploma in Writing.
