JC Burke lives in Sydney and has 2 children in their 20s who are regularly interrogated about their lives. Often this information ends up in Burke’s books. Usually it’s been exaggerated, taken out of context and moulded back together until it becomes the experience of one of her fictional characters. Her children are not impressed with this technique. They think she needs to ‘get a life’. Burke has written 10 novels. Won the CBCA Book of the Year for Older Readers in 2006 for The Story of Tom Brennan and The Ned Kelly Award for Best Crime Fiction in 2012 for PigBoy. She’s currently writing the screenplay of The Story of Tom Brennan and working on a TV drama with her 90 year old father. Her new novel ‘The Things We Promise’ is due for release February 2017.
