Jesse Blackadder wanted to be a vet from the age of five, but instead she ended up becoming a writer. “Stay: The Last Dog in Antarctica” was the first novel in her series for 8-12 year olds about friendships between humans and animals. “Paraku: The Desert Brumby” came out in 2014, and “Dexter: The Courageous Koala” will follow in 2015. The books are inspired by - and based on - real stories of people and animals, and researched in places including Antarctica, the Kimberley and Dubai. Jesse is also an international award-winning author of historical and contemporary fiction for adult readers.
